James 1:27 – “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world.”
Isaiah 40:11 – “The Lord tends His flock like a shepherd. He gathers up the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads the mother with her young.”
Psalm 68:5-6 – “A Father to the fatherless, a Defender of widows, is God in His holy temple. God places the lonely in families, and leads forth the prisoners with singing.”
Isaiah 1:17 – “Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.”

Matthew 18:1-5 – The disciples came to Jesus and asked Him, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” Jesus called a little child and had him stand among them. And Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in My Name welcomes Me.”
